Happy weekend everyone. I’ve realised that i’m terrible at blogging. I don’t seem to be able to keep up with everything and the blog always seems to be the first thing to get dropped, which is a shame because I enjoy it so much.
At the moment I am trying to juggle a full time (and then some) job, a part time degree, being a full time wife, online business owner, mother of a cat, a sister, daughter, auntie, friend, and sister-in-law. Phew. Even writing it all down makes me feel funny. I’ve got 8,000 words due in for university in 2 weeks and I go back to work on Monday.
But… here I am, because I need a release. I need to just write something that isn’t criminology related.
What have I been up to since my last post in January? Meat free Monday was abandoned early on. Maybe again later in the year, but we failed after doing a few.
I really got into Instagram this year. I am doing a mini project with the hashtag #selectionofthings, which has helped me create the following (amongst others) and I’ve discovered that I really like doing these for some reason.
I decided in February to try something new and I started to practise some lettering. I’m currently on a break from this until I’m done with my degree for the year (May) but then I’ll practise a lot! I got some new pens and some nibs with dipping ink and I love the process – it’s so relaxing.
I also got some fine drawing pens so that I could finally try some zentangles/doodles. A colleague of mine, following a tough time at work, randomly bought me some Moleskine notebooks one day, so I now have a little one for the train (centre photo).
The Husband and I went to London (he had some paperwork to do – new job) and so we spent the afternoon in Borough Market. Neither of us had been before so it was a treat. We tried so many lovely foods and brought home some treats too. We also went to the Tate Modern, which was lovely as I’d not been for years.
We went to London last week too; we took a drive to Canary Wharf because The Husband starts a new job there next week. The Wharf was lovely, we picked a great day to do it, and there are some nice shops there. We went to Tiffany and L let me swoon over the Soleste. He can be very patient. I tried on a £15,000(plus) diamond soleste and a £7,000(plus) tanzanite soleste. The tanzanite was the nicest one I’d ever seen – it was perfectly purple/blue and the cushion cut suited it perfectly. We also tried our first Byron Burger, which was a huge success. The strawberry milkshake and the knickerbocker glory were superb.
Finally, we just got back from an overnight stay just outside of Bath. We stayed at The Pig and had the best hotel experience that I’ve ever had. Once my review on Yelp! has been approved, I’ll link you up – it’s a stunning place that I’d recommend to anyone.
I saw these online today. I love looking at chocolates like these, more so than actually eating them. I especially like photographing things like this…
How great are these little whisk necklaces? I also came across these today.
So there’s a little update from me. My little nephew is growing up far too quickly. We saw him last weekend and he is standing up by himself and making word-like noises. He’s so alert and he loves his food. Bless his little cottons.
I’m on my second part of a cold in a week, which means I’m exhausted, so I’m going to leave it there. Have a good weekend y’all. I’ll be back sooner than last time.
